Background
After formal art training John Young started his career in the studio of an advertising agency in 1950. Specialising in his lifelong interest of aviation he soon built up an impressive list of commercial and military clients. 

Progressing from illustration to fine art, John went freelance in the early 1960’s. Founder member and previous Chairman of the Guild of Aviation Artists, John has won many awards including the Guild of Aviation Medal and the Flight International Trophy.

Around 15 of John Young’s aviation paintings are available as prints, mostly limited editions. An excellent book, The Aviation Paintings of John Young has been published by David and Charles and features a wide selection of John’s works.
