The main body of the book is a gallery of work from leading aviation artists, each illustrating the story of a distinguished Ace or squadron or fighting group such as the American Volunteer Group in China. In all over seventy paintings are included, supported by period photos. The volume concludes with short biographies of the contributing artists which include Robert Taylor, Nicolas Trudgian, Gil Cohen, Roy Grinnell and Stan Stokes. Quite a lot of the pictures span the spine of the book which is not ideal, however overall this is a well presented volume that is good value.
